Phil • Drums/vocals

Phil has been playing drums for over 40 years now, a self-taught drummer specializing in the basic 50’s beats. He started in about 1958 with Herbie Smith in Dayton, Ohio. They played up to 5 nights a week in an establishment called The Music Man. After a stint in the Army, Phil returned to the music business playing with several groups. One was a very popular local act by the name of Woody Lynch.

In 1983, Phil moved to Arizona and soon began drumming for a small country band every week. In 1995 he joined the Motorola Dance Band, just in time to play at the Super Bowl XXX Media Party in January 1996. Shortly after that, the 4-50s was born and Phil is happily playing the great music of the fifties. Phil graduated from High School in 1956, so he grew up with this music, and loves it all over again!

This is Phil and his lovely wife, Linda! They were married in 1996.
They have a total of 5 children between them from previous marriages, 4 daughters and one son.
They have a total of 7 grandchildren with 2 more on the way!
When not being a "4-50", Phil and Linda are very active in the
American Legion. Phil served in the U.S. Army in the 1960's. They
are both retired now, and enjoy dinner out. Their home is in  Chandler, AZ.
