Dewey • Bass guitar/vocals

At the age of 10, Dewey bought his first instrument, a ukulele. Later, as a teenager, he bought a used guitar for a whopping $8. After learning a group needed a bass guitar, he bought one and taught himself to play it.

Dewey was soon playing in local country bands three and four nights a week, but after a few years, the draw of all the other musical styles he listened to as a kid was too much and he began to branch out. While playing in one of these versatile groups, Dewey got the opportunity to play in the backup band for The Drifters in several shows. Dewey also played for nine years in the Motorola Dance Band.

Dewey has now been playing professionally for 40 years and, as a member of the 4-50s band, is glad to be back to the music of his high school days.

Dewey's day job is a Network Administrator for Computer Sciences Corporation.  When not working or playing music, Dewey is an avid pilot and aviation enthusiast.  He and his wife Sandy enjoy seeing the country from their airplane.  They have viewed nearly every square inch of Arizona and much of the rest of the Southwest from the air.  They have been active members of The Arizona Blue Sky Flyers flying club for over 20 years.  Click here to go to The Arizona Blue Sky Flyers web site.
